Regional Collaboration and Tribal Partnerships

 This is a no-cost, two-day course designed to provide
 skills in building partnerships between Tribal and non-
 Tribal programs for the purpose of promoting regional
 homeland security and developing mutual aid programs
 for responding to natural disasters.  The training is jointly
 sponsored by the Western Community Policing Institute
 at Western Oregon University and NNALEA.
 



 The Western Community Policing Institute (WCPI) was founded in 1996 as part
 of the Regional Community Policing Institute (RCPI) national network.  Located on
 the campus of Western Oregon University, WCPI maintains the highest standards
 of training development by creating training courses that adhere to the precepts
 of Instructional Systems Design and the application of adult learning principles, including
 problem-based learning.

 The National Native American Law Enforcement Association (NNALEA) is an
 organization with several hundred members nationwide.  Founded in 1993,
 t
he mission of NNALEA is to promote and foster collaboration between American 
 Indian
/Officers/Personnel,Tribes, industry and the public. NNALEA has a primary focus
 on
training and technical assistance and has provided hundreds of academic scholarships
 and training
sponsorships.
